Extract from the Northern Times of 6 August 2010 reporting that the Royal Bourgh of Dornoch's civic regalia saw the light of day for the first time in decades thanks to the First Minister's visit to the town when it was worn by the community council chairwoman Yvonne Ross. The regalia was stored away privately c 1975 when the town councils 'morphed' into district and regional councils. The regalia re-emerged with the return of the provostship to Dornoch.
