Dornoch Firth Bridge Construction ~ Quayside and 'Factory'

One of a series of 30 photographs, taken on 30th May 1990, during the construction of the Dornoch Firth bridge. The annotation on the back reads ~ View from the motorboat of the ‘Factory’ in the background, where the bridge sections were fabricated, and the quay-side where the tendering barges were berthed. One of the steel mesh tubes to be inserted inside the pile to reinforce the injected concrete within the pier jackets is awaiting loading onto the barge for transit to the floating crane.
