18th century gentleman's or boy's sword

A gentleman's or boy's sword found in a Sutherland dyke by Freddie Grant in c 1980. It is believed to be 18th century and probably British, It has a finely tapered, triangular cross section blade and the hilt is wood bound with fine metal wire.
