Monochrome photograph of four men grouped around a stranded whale - see comment below - on Dornoch beach. A second photograph (2009.103.02) with the group standing provides a better indication of the whale's size.

(There are two copies of this photograph in a strip of negatives - 2006_284_28 - but this print appears to be of better quality)

Hello,
I'd like to point out that the animal in the picture is a Sunfish Mola mola, a fish not a whale.
Congratulations on the site anyway, it is a great resource of local imagery.
