Colour photograph of a rare Scottish Silver Pair Case Pocket watch in immaculate condition made by G Bell, Dornoch in 1879. A full description of the watch records the inner and outer silver pair cases to be in excellent condition and hallmarked with the Lion Passant silver mark, the Leopard's Head London town mark and the date letter "D" for 1879. The inner case also bears the case maker's mark "HB" and 2/10. proving both cases to be original and to have been together since new. The case has a watchmakers paper inside from Fernie, St Andrews (the paper worn). The fusee movement, professionally checked by my watchmaker, was reported to be in excellent condition and working order, running well for the full length of the fusee chain. The watch has the serial no 8148, a very nicely engraved balance cock and jewelled end stone. The movement is key wind and key set by the key provided and is complete with dust cover. The white enamel dial is in excellent condition, the only extremely minor imperfection being some very faint hairlines from the sub seconds dial to the bottom edge and a very short one from the sub seconds dial to the centre. It has Roman style numerals for the hours and a subsidiary seconds dial. The movement is complemented by a very nice pair of gold coloured hands. The crystal is also in excellent condition.
