Copy of letter to the Daily Telegraph, published Monday April 28 2008 highlighting the fact that the hangings of Pendle Witches in Lancaster were not the last record witchcraft executions in England. Mary Hicks and her daughter Elizabeth executed in Huntingdon in July 1716 being later and, in Scotland, Janet Horne burned at the stake in 1722 being the last recorded.
