Willie Oman was my father's uncle and lived for most of his working life in Detroit, Michigan for General Motors. He retired I think because of ill health and returned to Scotland. I remember being driven by him, along with my cousin David Kennedy, in a Large Standard Vanguard car and he plied us with strip chewing gum. Not long after that he died. I think he is buried in the East Cemetery. His initials were WGO and my brother has an American masonic finger ring of his with these initials thereon.
