Monochrome family group photograph of son Donald, wife Williamina and daughter Seona (became Grant). Donald was born in Elmbank in Castle Street. The family headstone in Dornoch East Cemetery commemorates William, his wife Williamina MacKintosh Grant and son Donald who was Sheriff Clerk of Sutherland. William set up the Ironmongers in Dornoch which continued to bear his name until 2012. (See picture #11687). William was born in 1879 in Beauly, married in 1908 and was killed on active service in WW1 on 23 July 1918. He is buried in St Imoges Churchyard, France grave B 8.
