Memoirs of a Highland Gentleman, by Evander Maciver of Scourie, Sutherland Estates factor in late 1800s. 352 pages, leather bound in dark red, with faded green board covers.
Audit 01 - green cloth covered board covers that are badly stained and damaged around the edges and spine. Inside the pages are damaged along the edges and dirty and stained with several pages loose. Inside cover has a couple of stamps of 'Dornoch Heritage Society Scotland'.
The book was acquired by the museum from the collection of Jimmy Bell and preceded the museum's adoption of acquisition forms. In November 2012 the book was returned at the request of Andrew Mackay because it was only loaned to Jimmy Bell. The book has little relevance to the museum collecting area but the opportunity was taken, prior to return, to photocopy the title page and monochrome photograph of Evander Maciver which can be viewed using the pdf link below.
