Framed scroll commemorating Lance Corporal William Sutherland, Seaforth Highlanders, who was killed during WW1, and letter from Buckingham Palace. His medals are mounted beneath the scroll: War Medal and Victory Medal (ribbons faded). Arrived in France: July 1917 Born: Dornoch 1898 Parents: John and Katie Munro Sutherland of 'Golf View', Dornoch (father was Town Clerk of Dornoch 1924 - 1941 and served for fifty years as the Secretary of the Royal Dornoch Golf Club) William died of wounds 25.3.18 (wounded 24.3.18) 42 Stationary Hospital, Amiens aged 19. He is buried at St. Pierre Cemetery, Amiens, France VIII. G. 6 and also commemorated on the family headstone in the Dornoch East Cemetary] .
