Colour photographs of a general interior view of the garage in St Gilbert's Street. The firm of G. A. MacKenzie was started by George Allen Mackenzie as a blacksmiths, motor and agricultural engineers in St Gilbert Street and then taken over by his son Russell Mackenzie. The original building seen in early pictures of St Gilbert Street was extended by Allen Mackenzie thus explaining the 2 distinct levels inside the building. The shoeing of horses had all but died out by the time Russell took over in about 1974 but it retained its ability to carry out a wide range of repair and fabrication work.

Does anyone know what's happening with this building now? It seems to have been painted and a new door fitted but never seems to be in use.
