Mill-hill watermill

Colour photo of site of start of mill lade at Mill-hill. The three views (2001.004.004/ 005/ 006) above show the site where the mill lade took off from the river. The line of a possible cauld construction projects obliquely upstream, forming a deep, smooth surfaced catchment pool, from the apex of which the mill lade commences. There are, however, certain inconsistencies in the levels of the floor of the lade today, and this possible site of origin of the lade, that are hard to rationalise.
