Postcard addressed to Mr T.W. Marshall notifying him of a meeting of the horticultural society in 1876. Card is pre-stamped with 1/2p Queen Victoria stamp.

Audit 01 - Postcard is franked 'Dornoch OC 21 76' and dated the same, 21st October 1876 and signed possibly 'Geo.' or 'W' but certainly not 'D' Bridgeford. The Inspector of Police at Dornoch at this time was called Bridgeford so it may well be the same man. The postcard is dirty and creased near the top right corner and there are rust spots on it.

Dimensions: Length 121mm - Width 75mm

This postcard was addressed to my great Grandfather, Thomas Wiseman Marshall, who lived in Dornoch with his wife Margaret (Maggie) Marhall (nee Williamson). Dornoch was also where my grandfather, Robert Williamson Marshall was born along with his older siblings Clementina Hay Marshall, Alexander Marshall, Elizabeth Marshall and young Robert. The family lived at Cuthill Farm until c1887 when they emigrated to Australia in 1888 Comment left on 22 March 2019 at 22:41 by Brenda Elzarka (nee Marshall) Many thanks for this fascinating family information Administrator
