The photo in the centre was taken long after 1930, as the Shin Dam, pictured, was constructed in the late 1950s, about the same time as a row of council houses at the very left of that picture. Council houses of a slightly older vintage are also visible in the photo bottom left. I am 72 and have known Lairg since infancy.
