Extract of 60 pages from a bundle of correspondence and papers relating to the Dornoch Highland Games 1926 - 1929. The documents include: programmes for the event in August 1925 - 27; letters from patrons, including Lord Rothermere, Mrs Andrew Carnegie, the Duke and Duchess of Sutherland, other individuals and companies in Dornoch and elsewhere in Scotland; correspondence, invoices and quotations from trophy, tentage, catering suppliers and insurance companies; a Post Office Telegram Form; correspondence with the Post Office about Entertainment Stamps; a Customs and Excise pamphlet about Entertainment Duty plus receipt for payment; extract of accounts for year ending 31 Dec 1926. Some correspondence shows the bold letter headings used by companies, such as the renowned Lumleys Ltd of Edinburgh and Glasgow which includes a telegram abbreviated address. The cover of the programme for the 1926 gathering has pencil annotation which it is assumed relates to attendance of 1485 @ 1/3d.
