Monochrome postcard, part of the collection sent to members of the Forsyth family in Edinburgh, Pittsburgh and New York. Photograph with inscription 'Dornoch Castle' with handwriting below, including date 2/4/06. The next image shows the reverse with the address of Miss Joan Forsyth in Hot Springs, Virginia. It is notable that this postcard was posted in Clashmore on 2 April 1906 and reached Hot Springs, USA by 12 pm 12 April. In the period when crossing of the Atlantic was by liner, the transit time of only 10 days is remarkable at a cost of a one penny, red Edward V11 postage stamp!
