Black and white photo of Mrs.Ann Cumming, Boston House, Embo with her son-in-law Thomas (Sandy) Macfarlane, who made her famous in song when he composed "Grannie's Heilan' Hame". Ann Cumming, nee MacKay was born around 1858 (her age is given as 18 on her marriage certificate in 1870.) If this photo was taken in 1920, she would have been 62. By today's standards she looks much older. Comment left on 03 August 2020 at 13:35 by Alison T. McCall
Sorry, there's a typo in my original comment. Ann was aged 18 on her marriage certificate in 1876, not 1870.

The other figures are correct - if she was 18 in 1876, she would have been born around 1858. She gave her age as 33 in the 1891 census, which also confirms that she was born around 1858.
