Gold medal in the shape of a Maltese cross with a circular boss in the centre bearing the letters NRA. Around this is BISLEY GRAND AGGREGATE, with the year 1893 engraved.
The medal has a ring at the top which fits over a hook in the presentation box (b) (hook missing), which is covered in brown paper with a stamped gold border. The base of the box is lined with purple velvet and the lid with faded blue silk.
