Scottish Twenty Club medal - Robert Mackay 1889/90
Gold medal (a) in the shape of an oval belt with buckle, arms of saltire protruding from behind, and lion rampant in the centre. Lettering round the belt reads SCOTTISH TWENTY CLUB INST. 1872. Stamped with the maker's mark EM and hallmarks castle, 18, thistle, h (Edinburgh 18 carat gold 1889/90).
The medal has a ring at the top which fits into a slot in the presentation box (b), which is covered in dark brown paper with a gold border stamped on the top and the words SCOTTISH TWENTY CLUB, also in gold. The base of the box is lined with purple velvet and the lid with faded pale red silk stamped with a gold crown and the retailer's name JAMES ROBERTSON & SON, 101 PRINCES ST. EDINBURGH.
