National Rifle Association ~ Bisley badge - Robert Mackay 1893

Embroidered raised badge in the shape of an oval with crown above, on a backing of blue felt, hessian or similar, and paper. The borders of the oval and crown are worked in metal thread with sequins. The words NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION are embroidered in black round the border, and BISLEY 1893 is worked in metal thread on a red felt background in the centre.

Robert McKay shot in the Queens Final 11 times. 1883/87/93/6/7/8/1901 and 05.

He also won the Grand Aggregate Gold Cross in 1893 but this medal does not appear to be in the collection. The Grand Aggregate is made up of a number of competitions which takes place throughout the Imperial Meeting which by tradition takes place during the last two weeks in July.
