Embroidered raised badge in the shape of a shield with a blue satin border and red felt centre, on a backing of dark blue felt, hessian or similar, and paper. The outlines of the shield and the wording are worked in metal thread. It reads PRESIDENTS HIGHLAND RIFLE ASSOCIATION round the outside and PRIZE AND BADGE 1889 in the centre.
