A History of Fiddle Music in the Highlands
Dornoch Heritage Society talk 'A History of Fiddle Music in the Highlands' by Donald Goskirk on 17th March 2005 was originally recorded on a mini-disc. As part of the project to enhance museum virtual presence, in 2025 the mini-disc was converted to MP3 format and, after appropriate editing, the MP3 file was transcribed, and as necessary edited to become a pdf file. This enabled direct on-line access to the content of the talk using the pdf link below.
This talk was interspersed with music played by Donald, signified by the inclusion of fiddle images. These musical interludes were not recorded on the original mini-disc. Should there be interest in hearing Donald's selected fiddle tunes hopefully the text will provide detail for the necessary search.
