Digital copy of an extract from the Northern Times of March 1992 recording the return of the newly cleaned portrait of Queen Victoria to its place in the Sutherland District Council's debating chamber. Despite attempts to oust it to the staircase it was agreed to return it to its former position where it was hung in 1903. The full District Council agreed to follow the recommendation of their policy and resources and the representations from the Dornoch Heritage Society and Dornoch Community Council which avowedly support art and culture.
