Extract from Northern Times 'From Our Old Files' of 9 January 2025 highlighting 100 years ago, on Jan 8, 1925 the paper marked the handing out of Christmas gifts funded by Mrs Carnegie of Skibo. Gifts were also received from Mrs Hardie, wife of the Skibo Factor, while Mr Hardie handed out cheques to estate employees on Christmas Day, whilst the wives received gifts in kind.
