A spitoon which may have been used by the Canadian Forestry Corps.
The accompanying information was also received:
A tree was blown over in Migdale Woods and under the roots the sawmill dump was exposed and the spitoon was the most significant find.
No positive proof that it was used by the Canadians but it was said that they had an allocation of chewing tobacco and needed a spitoon or two!
Who else would have a spittoon in the middle of a wood.
