Marion and her siblings all served during WW2. Her brother James was a Piper with the 5th Seaforth Highlanders when he was wounded at El Alamein, Egypt. He was taken to the very hospital in Alexandria where Marion was working. Sadly, James died from his injuries.
She was highly decorated, receiving a total of twelve medals for her dedicated service during WW2.
Known as a small and quiet lady Marion never stopped caring, even helping with other residents in the care home in East Sussex where she lived out her final days.
