Clay pipe bowl and part of stem found by divers in 1946 during repairs to Bonar Bridge. The pipe bowl has a star symbol surrounded by the inscription, ' J A Polson Bonar Bridge'. In the period 1890 onwards J. A. Polson was a General Merchant shop on the corner facing the northern exit of Bonar Bridge. Supporting documentation (picture #13794) suggests the pipe must have been sold before 1900.
