
Child's cradle
Digital photograph of a wooden cradle with a supporting stand. The cradle has a flat base, slanted sides and round-topped ends, with a metal hoop to support a canopy. The sides have projecting loops, possibly for attaching a cover. The stand has two crossbars and loops at the top of the side pieces to take hooks on the ends of the cradle, allowing the cradle to swing. Traces of dark pink paint remain.
Donors found it in the loft of their byre.
Extensive woodworm treatment September 2003. One foot of the stand is badly cracked.
Despite the woodworm treatment the overall state of the cradle deteriorated (see images using pdf link below) leading to a decision to dispose of the object
