A bundle of 22 plain lead and coloured pencils dating back to the second world war. These were in the personal collection of the late DR Struan Robertson.
Prior to WWII, Germany had a large pencil manufacturing industry and 'utility' and 'war drawing' pencils were manufactured in England to prevent Contravening the 'Trading with the Enemy Act', 1939.
Markings include "2H War Drawing", "Stationary Office 46-11 Blue Utility", and "J Chambers Utility Blue"
