Cutting from the Northern Times published on April 7 2022 reporting on the strong support for Ukraine fundraising at a quiz organised by Alistair Risk and other members of the Rotary Club of East Sutherland on 1st April 2022 hosted by Brora Golf Club. The event raised £400. Funds raised were for the international disaster relief charity ShelterBox, active in Ukraine. After the quiz Mr Risk moved into a tent in the church grounds for five nights in a bid to highlight the plight of Ukrainian refugees and drum up further funds. He was visited by a number of people including East Sutherland and Edderton Ward councillor Deirdre Mackay.
