Historylinks Museum Exhibition 2022 Miss Kathleen Lyon
Digital colour photograph of the Historylinks Museum Exhibition 2022 ‘An Edwardian Lady - Miss Kathleen Lyon’, portraying the early part of her life as an artist, photographer and historian. During the planning stage of this exhibition, residents of Dornoch offered further objects complementing the extensive collection of Miss Lyon drawings, photographs and documents in the museum archive. In the foreground of the exhibition is Historylinks archive folding artists stool (2008.134 #6235) and to the right is a costume of the Edwardian period, on loan from Grantown Museum, made by Suzi Wilson as a replica of that worn in the cherished studio photograph of Miss Lyon (2022_038_01). Miss Lyon’s camera was on loan for the period of the exhibition from Mr G Sawyer, with artwork from Mrs K Robinson, Mrs I MacKay and Mr G Sawyer. A selection of photographs from the museum archive exemplified Miss Lyon’s artistic eye in their composition, with a selection of copies from her sketchbook of Life and Flower drawings
