A brown envelope with label ‘Gloves and crepe for the Halberds’. The envelope has a return address printed at top left ‘ Bryce(?) Jones Ltd, The Royal Welsh Warehouse, Newton, Montgomeryshire’ The content of the envelope is limited to the ceremonial accoutrement' of black crepe for the Halberds (a ceremonial combined spear and battleaxe). See picture #2550 which shows a Burgh Parade led by four Halberd carriers wearing medals, bowler hats and white gloves, immediately followed by Town Council members wearing top hats.
