Large rusted implement found at a croft in Astle. The large wheel is connected to a series of gearing cogs and provides rotary motion to the drill bit. A smaller wheel with a small horizontal handle adjust the depth of the drilling. All moving parts a rusted and cannot move. The support has holes at the base for securing the drill to a surface.
Markings on the support: Champion, Blowep and Fowle Co., Ancaster, Patented USA. No 101
