I compiled the biography (which can be read in its entiry at above Flickr + Facebook links) of Mr MacDonald from old records of Inverness-shire and Sutherland Constabularies, together with the transcript of the obituary which appeared in the Northern Times of the time.

NOTE: The photograph and newspaper cutting were preserved by the late Kenneth Ross BL, final Chief Constable of Sutherland (himself the son of a Sutherland Constable). Mr Ross would then become the first and only CC of Ross & Sutherland Constabulary 1963-1975, and retired as Assistant CC of Northern Constabulary). They were subsequently passed on to me as part of my research into the history of Northern Constabulary and its constituent forces.
