Series of 24 photographs from family archives related to John Jappy who was a Police Constable at Bonar Bridge. The first shows John, aged about 7, in 1942. He was born in Glasgow in February 1935. His father was from Helmsdale and John had a great love for Sutherland. He joined Glasgow City Police in 1956 and after four years service transferred to Sutherland Constabulary. Initially he spent three weeks in Dornoch before being posted to Tongue. In 1967 he was offered a transfer to Bonar Bridge and his wife Hilda and their three small daughters were happy to move. While at Bonar they had another daughter and John worked there until being transferred to Dornoch in 1976.
