I'm afraid the picture is not one of the members of the drama club. Trying to identify people, I can find my father (Eoin Mackintosh - Tosh) at the end of the top row - r.h.s. Alastair Topp is the tall man second from the left in the top row. Both were certainly in the drama club. The only other person I'm absolutely sure of is the lady sitting 2nd/3rd from the left in the middle row. She is Margaret Mathieson - affectionately known as "Maggie Wordie." She was a telephonist when the telephone exchange was located in the old Post Office in the Square. I remember her well, and she was a great character, although crippled with arthritis. Given these clues, I would suspect that the celebration was one organised by the post office or the telephone service and that the people attending came from all over the county. Alastair Topp certainly started with the post office as a telegraph boy when he was a young man. I would hope that these clues might spur others to study the photo to see if they recognise anybody else. Comment left on 17 July 2022 at 18:26 by Richard Mackintosh
