Colour photograph of a wooden carved ornament of the Dornoch Imp believed to be made from a fragment of the original Dornoch Cathedral c 1600. The dense wooden ornament is overall 165 mm in height, 180 mm in width and 65 mm in depth. The upper part carving of the imp has a small tongue which fits into a slot in the wooden base. The wood is dense, probably a sign of age and dark brown colour. The base has two drilled holes at some stage used to screw the base to the tongue of the upper part. When facing the ornament, the left hand end of the base bears carved lettering 'Dornoch Imp'.
