Monochrome image shows Embo women seated against fish crates baiting fish lines with a hardy 'old salt' seated on the right of the photograph. The lady in the centre may be Kate ("Curly") Mackay, a Cumming by birth, who was the mother of Robert John Mackay, the Embo poet and story-teller. The image was included in an article "Thanks for those Memories..." published in the Northern Time of November 15th, 1985 and dates from c 1915.
