Extract from the Northern Time of December 22, 2017 with the title 'Old gas lamps shed new light on museum'. With an accompanying colour photograph the article covers the switching on ceremony for a pair of Dornoch's original gas lamps, renovated and installed outside the museum, now lit by electricity with modern energy-saving bulbs. Historylinks Museum is close to the old Dornoch Gas Works buiding on Shore Road,, dating from 1845 It now faces an uncertain future and it is gratifying that two of Dornoch's orginal gas lamps have been found and saved. Most recently the two lamp posts were used as supports for a clothes drying line in a local garden!
