Jessie and Wilma Ross were the daughters of Isabella Ross (Bella aigh Paul) who was closely related to my paternal grandmother Isabella Mackay (Bella aigh Kenny Main). Bella Mackay (Bella aigh Chiney) was the daughter of my mother's (Mary Ann Mackay nee Cumming) first cousin Mary Ann Mackay (Mary Ann aigh Chiney), the daughter of Alexander Fraser, who was known in Embo as Chiney. If my memory is good I suspect that the lady on the extreme right of the back row is Isabella Ross (Bella aigh Paul), the mother of Wilma and Jessie. I knew all four of them in my childhood days in Embo and I know that they all followed the herring fishing fleet as herring gutters and packers in the herring harvest season.
