This is my grandfather, Donald Grant, whom, I believe, went on to win the Carnegie Sheild in the 1930's, helped develop Pinehurst golf course in America in the 1960s....amongst other things, in an extraordinary life.

He also won the Austrian Open in Vienna where he spirited away thousands of Jews from the Nazis. Was Einstein's interpreter at one point. Wrote the first Book on Donald Ross of Pinehurst and Dornoch plus another of his Personal Memories of Golf in Royal Dornoch. Tom Watson was so impressed with his knowledge and understanding of the game of golf that he asked for permission to write a foreword in a reprint of one of the books and actually sent payment towards the reprint.
