Extract from 'From Our Old Files' of the Northern Times of Friday May 29, 1960 recording the burial of Lance Corporal Donald Grant 9th Royal Scots who died in London as a result being severely wounded near Ypres on April 24 1915. At the grave, in Dornoch East Cemetery, "the Union Jack was placed on teh coffin and the usual tribute of firing a vollley was accorded". [The grave in Dornoch East Cemetery Sec 8 15 has a Commonwealth War Graves headstone.
