Ninth of a series of nine photographs recording the demolition of the Dornoch Abatttoir site, between Shore Road and Castle Lane Dornoch, which took place during the month of April 2015. This view shows the wide open space left following the demolition, with a carpet of the pulverised buildings forming a founadation for further construction work. stages of demoliton became quite fascinating, albeit noisy for spectators, as heaps of rubble were put through a series of pulverising processes to reduce to a foundation material. Fortunately for the residents of Dornoch (and for surrounding roads) there was no requirement for convoys of large trucks removing spoil from the site. Historylinks Museum can be seen at top left, with its title above the entrance and southern roof with solar panels. The initial benefit to the Museum was a welcome new vista to the SE with a clear line of sight to the Struie Golf Course, Dornoch Airfield and the Firth beyond
