Extract from the Northern Times published on 24 January 2014 reporting that plans for the extension of the West Church Hall spark a row between the Highland Council's conservation officer and architects. The conservation office claimed that their contemporary glass and timber design would be "damaging" to a historic building and she had recommended planning consent should be refused.
