Monochrome photograph of the Royal Dornoch Golf Course c 1904. The greens shown in this photograph the 5th and old 6th (now the 11th) were part of a reconstruction in 1904, when the course was first extended up the hill to the 7th and back to the 11th, going beyond the Burgh boundary and on to the Hilton of Embo common grazings. The built up embankment can be seen extending from the then 6th (present 11th) green to the old 7th (present 12th) tee. The photograph cannot be from any earlier than 1904.

5th green in the foreground and present 11th green in background but at the time, before the course was extended up the hill to the 7th and back to the 11th, this green was the 6th green. You can see the built up embankment from the then 6th, present 11th green to the old 7th, present 12th tee. Comment left on 19 May 2014 at 10:43 by Bill Leslie
