Extract from the Northern Times published on Friday 1st November, 2013 'From Our Old Files' with a report of November 1st, 1963 concerning the "very elegant street lighting system - long slender standards with upright lanterns" installed in Dornoch. The old system was considered unsatisfatory leaving large patches of the Square particularly dark in the long winter nights.
