Copy of 'From our Old Files', published in the Northern Times of August 30, 2013, This page, which provides a flavour of the range of subjects covered in this regular feature on times past, includes in the 50 Years Ago (August 30, 1963) a report of a massed pipe band parade at Dornoch which provided a great attraction for the many visitors to the town. The Bands concerned were the Inverness British Legion, Thurso and Dornoch with altogether 50 bandsmen on parade and three drum majors. This section also records the Secretary of State being consulted to revoke a Dornoch links bye-law tofto permit Sunday Golf.
