Treasure Trove objects from Balloan, Dornoch found by metal detection and acquired by the Inverness Museum & Art Gallery. A copper alloy pin made by rolling and compressing sheet metal. There are no sign of an attachment at the head of the pin and so it most likely intended as a dress pin rather than part of an annular brooch. The pin is bent into a hook shape by two right-angle bends; this is most likely a deliberate modification to facilitate its use to fasten a garment. Overall length 98.5mm © Inverness Museum Inverness Museum Catalogue 2007.023.012
