The notes were produced for the purposes of a 2011 Dornoch Schools talk to the Dornoch Heritage Society, by Rick Bramley and John Muir, which later formed the basis for the museum 'Schools Out' exhibition in 2012.

I have a book awarded to my father, David Peter Sutherland as a memorial prize September 1912, he would have been almost 11years old, inscribed 'Larachan School with Mr. And Mrs. Andrew Carnegie's Best Wishes Skibo Castle July 1912'.
