Limited edition print of Dornoch by Sir George Reid, viewed from near the present 13th tee of the golf course. It was produced from the original painting at the Dean Gallery, Edinburgh. Reid submitted this painting as his diploma work when he was admitted to the RSA in 1877. The painting shows two boys with a flock of sheep in a sandy hollow. The town, cathedral and castle are visible in the background. The print is on cotton acid-free paper and is not mounted or numbered. (see 2009.001.02 and 03 for further details)

Loved this image, we have a painting very similar with the same buildings in the background done by Arthur Ryle. It is showing a small bridge with golfers, one trying to rescue a ball from the water with a club. I did not know where the golf course was until today. Thank you for this site.
